Success Story: Matrix Sensor

In healthcare, reducing falls and unattended incidents is vital to lowering hospital admissions and costly complications. Cascade3d designed and delivered the Matrix Sensor - a motion and monitoring device with embedded firmware, wireless communication, and AWS cloud integration. The solution has already helped care teams respond faster, reduce false alarms, and improve outcomes for vulnerable patients.

Challenge

In the healthcare sector, one of the top priorities is reducing hospital admissions and complications caused by elderly people who fall and are left unattended for long periods. Movement detection, reliable alerts, and remote monitoring are essential.

Solution

We (Cascade3d) engineered the Matrix Sensor - an embedded device combining multi-axis motion sensors, low power wireless communication, edge-embedded logic (firmware), and cloud-based monitoring & alerting. The design included fault detection, secure OTA updates, and dashboard UI for caregivers.

Result

Reliable sensor performance with >99% uptime in pilot deployment, reduced false positives, significant reduction in delayed care incidents. The product was scaled for manufacturing, deployed in multiple care homes, supported on AWS backend
